Build combinations using data instead of assumptions. Sure, you can send out a survey and gather feedback from that campaign. But, why wait? Using candid feedback readily available to you on social media can offer you instant results.

Build Combinations Using Direct Feedback

There are several ways you can gather information about what people are saying about your company. First, check your notifications and make sure you are being emailed anytime someone mentions you.

Turn on Notifications For:

Second, search your company name (without using the @ symbol) in the search bar. Remember to use quotations. You will only be shown posts that don’t separate the various words in your brand name. For example, by searching “Label Gator” we’d only see posts that mention us as “Label Gator” instead of posts that mention both words throughout. For example, “This gator has a label on it.”

Use a service that emails you anytime someone mentions your brand name. Mention is a free application that does this. It allows you to be passively engaged with what people are saying about you online.

Now that you’re set up let’s look at how this feedback can influence your arrangements.

A customer has mentioned you in their Instagram post of a plant they bought. By understanding how they used this plant at home, and what plant it is, you can create a combination that uses this product that would best serve their needs. For example, a customer recently bought a petunia from you, and in this post, they mention how much they love the vibrant color. Based on this engagement, you can create a colorful arrangement that incorporates your petunias with plants that would be suitable for the same conditions.

Build Combinations Using General Social Media Commentary

Once you have an understanding of what people are saying about your business, take a look at what people are saying about the industry. Search generic, and short tail keywords like “plants,” “plant,” “garden,” and specific plant names. On Instagram, add a hashtag before each keyword.

Once you start looking through this content, you will be able to see what plants people are drawn to and DIY projects they use them for. It allows you to stay on trend and bring in creative ideas you otherwise would not have been exposed to.

Create Cohesive Labeling & Packaging

Now that you have gathered information on what people are looking for, you can design your labels to enhance the shopping experience. Incorporate what you’ve seen by including helpful DIY projects in a booklet style label. Create multiple labels for each demographic’s needs. Of course, these labels can all be effortlessly applied using an applicator system saving the extra time of hand applying these unique labels.

For Example…

Build Combinations image of panies/violets

You see the above image posted with the message, “I only grow pansies for the cakes.” The poster is a nearby bakery who clearly uses edible flowers as a part of their decorating designs. Firstly, you can create an arrangement of edible flowers for local bakers, both professional and amateur. Offer recipes and images of some completed examples on the label. Then, reach out to the bakery. Let them know which post you saw and offer to send them this new arrangement you’ve been building. Not only will this please your contact, but it will excite customers in store. Then, if the original poster enjoys your product, you can bet they will use it in their social media posts, crediting you with the flowers. Suddenly your exposure is up, you are engaging with the community and you have a sense of the pulse of what customers are looking for.
