Your customers may not see fall as a great season to get out into the garden. Help them visualize their horticultural potential and offer them information on how to be successful this season. While many plants need to come inside, there is still time to enjoy what is happening outside. For a simple solution, share the below Garden Answer video on social media.
Fall Decor
Even if this means adding a new layer of mulch, there is value in updating gardens. Encourage customers to plant those additions they’ve been holding out on. Or, encourage customers to spruce up their garden with removable additions like pumpkins and various stalks.
Prepping For Winter and Spring
It is an ideal time to bring plants inside, add a new layer of mulch and complete other tasks that will protect plants that need it. Show customers how to prep their plants with in-house classes, or online webinars. Or, add a secondary label onto items you’re selling to let customers know how to care for them properly throughout winter and what items should be planted in the spring instead.
Creating Indoor Landscapes
It’s time for customers to start thinking about how plants can liven up their indoor spaces. Highlight low light loving plants, create mini arrangements, and showcase plants that love humidity for those basement apartment dwellers. Also, promote ways keep plants thriving once brought inside. The easier customers find the process, the more likely they are to come back for more. Show customers how plants aren’t only a spring obsession, but in fact benefit us year round.
