It’s important that your products are listed in an online product guide, and it’s even better if this is found in several places. As e-commerce grows, shoppers look to information provided online to figure out what plants to get for their gardens and where to get them. So, when research is done online, make sure they recognize the products and labels in-store.

What actually counts as an online product guide?

As a result of the digital age, there’s many places to add in-stock items. So, use them all, or, as many as possible. Show products in a portfolio on your website. Create a video product guide for YouTube. Add images of your items to a “Product Guide” Instagram Story highlight. Make it accessible for wherever shoppers go. Then, when they conduct a Google search, your options are more likely to turn up in the first page of the results.

All Plants MUST be Listed

To offer the most value to shoppers, list all products offered in-store. Popular or not, customers want to know what’s available before they invest time in making a purchase, or driving over. Even if your brand doesn’t yet offer e-commerce options, offer some sort of product guide. Again, discoverability is important to local business too. Customers look for clarity. They want to gather as much information as they can before making the purchase, or driving out to your location. By showing them all the options available and making it easily accessible, the more you aid them in their search.

How to Match Your Labels to Your Horticulture Listings Online

So, when customers come in, the information, and imagery needs to make sense to create a simple shopping experience. Provide the information offered online on the label as well (and more). The repetition creates recognition, which then creates a simple experience shoppers will love. So, whatever image is used on the label design, make sure it’s used somewhere on the product’s listing. Of course, add to it if you want to, but the consistency inspired confidence in your brand. It looks professional, and emphasizes your brand’s consistent voice. So, this also goes for font, colors, and graphics used.
