Ensure videos are filmed in high definition, that graphic design uses standard artistic principles, and the social media hashtag is unique enough that it isn’t used by other brands. The presentation is everything because it helps customers feel as though the content was made with care. If this is not something practical for in-house creation, hire a skilled professional. Or, take the time to learn skills now to create content next year. Just because you don’t currently have the ideal content doesn’t necessarily mean you need to rush out and get it if it means quality is compromised.

Customers don’t want high-quality content if it’s self-serving. Instead, consider the needs of your customers and be open to feedback. What’s most important is that their needs are met. So, inspire, educate, and entertain. Just make sure it’s on brand, on topic, and on customers’ minds.
For example, consider the QR code on above basil plant’s label. It’s purpose is to link customers to a brief video about taking it outdoors for the summer, then indoors for the winter. Imagine if that video instead spoke generally about the company’s growth in the past year. While that video is fantastic for social media, it doesn’t provide added value for their new purchase. It communicates to customers that your brand cares more about its own needs.
